Consistency Is A Very Important SEO Factor

Consistency Is A Very Important SEO Factor

If you ask people what they think is necessary to get a website ranking high for a particular keyword, most of them will mention things like an optimized title tag, unique content, backlinks and so on.

While those factors are indeed important for SEO, they will produce very small results if you don’t combine them with consistency.

That is, you could launch a new website today with a lot of unique content and many backlinks, but unless you keep adding new content and getting new links consistently over time your website, would not rank high for any competitive keyword.

The opposite is also true. Even if you launch a website with little unique content and no backlinks, you can still get it ranking high for competitive keywords if you consistently keep adding new content and getting new backlinks.

Let me illustrate this point with some numbers. Suppose we launch two websites targeting the same keyword, website A and website B. On website A we publish 50 articles right away and manage to attract 500 backlinks on the first day thanks to a viral campaign on social media sites. On website B, on the other hand, we work our way up gradually, publishing one article every other day and getting 10 new backlinks per week. After 6 months I would be willing to bet that website B is ranking higher than website A, and that is because of the consistency factor.

In fact Google confirmed in the past that the pace at which a website publishes new content and gains new backlinks is indeed used inside its algorithm.

3 Tips To Make Your SEO To The Next Level

3 Tips To Make Your SEO To The Next Level

3 Tips To Make Your SEO To The Next Level
So you’ve conducted keyword research, optimized every page of your website, and done some basic link building like setting up business profiles and local profiles and submitted your site to directories. While this is all important you know that that’s just not going to cut it. No matter what industry you are in, the web is a competitive place. Only so many websites can get onto that coveted first search engine results page. So what can you do to really take your SEO up a notch and improve your chances of getting there? Below are 3 tactics to implement right now...

1. Ramp up Your Content Marketing

Content is a huge part of SEO. After all, without content what is there to optimize? Obviously it takes time and resources to create quality content on a regular basis and that’s why many businesses falter in this area. They either don’t have the manpower, the time, or even the skills to do it right. In order to really be effective it’s important to create a blog and submit content to it daily, submit guest blog posts and articles to industry websites, create videos and upload them to video sharing sites, and create other “link bait” materials such as infographics and free whitepapers, guides, or E-books. Content needs to be taken seriously and content writers should be hired or the work should be outsourced to a trusted writer in order to really give your SEO campaign the boost that it needs.

2. Get Active in Social Media

Social media is no longer just a brand building tool. Social media activity is now a search engine algorithm ranking factor. The search engines rank web pages and web content based on trust and social media signals such as Likes, shares, tweets, +1’s and more establish that trust amongst social media users. If content is shared frequently, the search engines take note. Of course, in order to achieve these social signals it’s important to create social media accounts and keep them active. There’s no use in setting up a brand page and then not using it. Use social media to have a conversation with followers and promote content that they will find useful and that they will be willing to share. While the social media “Big 4” (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google+) are important, there are numerous niche social networks that shouldn’t be ignored. In addition, social bookmarking sites can also drive traffic to your website and build your brand visibility.

3. Make Connections

A robust link building campaign aims to create links on related web properties across the web. These links can be created by submitting quality content to industry sites and other industry blogs. Of course, in order to be granted access to these sites it’s necessary to build a positive reputation and form relationships with others in the industry or in related industries over time. Take the first step by introducing yourself via social media or initiate a conversation by commenting on one of their blog posts. These relationships are extremely valuable and can lead to new linking and business opportunities over time.

Difference Between No Follow and Do Follow Links

Difference Between No Follow and Do Follow Links

When we talk about the term Search Engine Optimization, Don’t we come across some terms like ‘dofollow’ or ‘nofollow’ links which are always been an important terms of SEO??? We often hear about dofollow blogs or we sometimes see some sites sharing a list of dofollow blogs and many other things on this topic. Many of the readers may not know about what is actually dofollow and nofollow. This thing will also enlighten newbies about one of the major concept of SEO i.e. ‘dofollow’ and ‘nofollow’ !!!

Search Engines use links to go through all the sites on the web. What happens actually is Google bots visit your blog to go through it completely. Your content, keywords, links, etc. So, when talking about links, bots crawl through your website and find various links on your blogs; and these links can be of two types- either nofollow or dofollow where both the terms are completely opposite to each other.

Nofollow is an HTML attribute of the tag rel which tell the Search Engine bots to not to follow this link.

In WordPress, by default, all the comments are having Nofollow attribute but they can be easily removed using plugins and all the comments in it made in the past and future will be dofollow as it removes the nofollow tag from all the comments. And in even blogger,by default, all the comments are marked as nofollow but it can be tweaked to dofollow by removing the rel=”nofollow” tag from the HTML section.

In a case where your blog is dofollow, when a bot finds a link on your blog, it follows it and lands on another page. Do you know, this is the way only bots come to know about your websites and helps to index or cache them and display it in search results.

However, as I said earlier that dofollow and nofollow are completely opposite to each other. In a dofollow case, the bot follows your blog lands to another page but In a nofollow case i.e. if the link is nofollow, this nofollow tag tell the search engines or the bots to NOT to follow this links to any other websites. So, the bit won’t be able to follow that link. So, nofollow tag does not allows the bot to follow a link.

So, that’s it in the introduction part of nofollow and dofollow links. Hope you understand this concept in a better manner as I explained it with the help of examples.
